Meet the Urban Chickens!
Welcome! We are a small urban backyard farm near Seattle, Washington, who love and raise chickens, a few ducks, and a cat named Gryphon. We’re also learning more and more each day about sustainability through growing our own edible landscaping and squarefoot gardening.
We have a variety of chicken breeds and hybrids and love to share our experiences and information. There is a lot to learn raising chickens (and ducks, and even a cat!) but anyone can do it with patience and the right amount of enthusiasm!
Below are pictures of our girls when they were about 11-week old pullets and going through their “awkward teenage” stage. They’ve grown quite a lot since then and are now fully blossomed, 1-year old hens! (We’ve always been in love with them no matter the current state of their down jackets :)
