Urban Chickens Summer Camp

Calling All Mini Farmers!!! Join us for hands-on “nose-to-beak” interactions with chickens on our urban backyard farm!

During a fun-filled week, your child will be paired with a chicken in order to have an opportunity to develop a bond during his or her week at camp. We will explore and learn about:

safe bird handling and camp safety
up-close interaction with backyard chickens and ducks
farm chores
the science of chickens and ducks: their diet, eggs and biology
gardening, composting, worm bins, and chicken-keeping
chicken and duck-themed creative art projects
honeybees and honey collection
we will also be sure to get some physical activity
and of course, mix it all in with lots of sunshine and fresh air!!

At the beginning—and end of each day, we will review our day’s activities and reflect on the skills we need—or the skills we learned and accomplished and give ourselves a high five for learning something new! And maybe we’ll do a chicken dance! :) View a sample schedule.

Ages

This is a mixed-age camp with children ages 8-14 and 6 students per session. We work individually and in small groups supported by one adult instructor and 1-2 junior camp staff for a 2:6 staff to camper ratio!

Dates & Times

August 20 – 24, 8am-Noon, Monday – Friday $230 (1 week)
Flexible 1-Day Camp option, during above scheduled camp dates, $50/day

Location

We are located above Safeway on Finn Hill in Kirkland. Specific directions to camp are provided to registered campers to preserve our own children’s privacy and safety. Thank you for understanding.

We are insured in the City of Kirkland and licensed in the City of Kirkland and the State of Washington.

Camp Fee

$ 230.00 per camper
